week 2, day 2 - 17 January

section 1 :
-       People formed alliances, and colonies cannot stands alone. We have many things that make the alliances unstable. This is the cause of the Domino Effect. Germany was small and independent. French is a big country and have been fighting the British for hundreds of years. So the Germany is scared that the French will come and invade their country. Germany is still developing into a country.
-       In 1904, France then make an alliance with Russia and Britain (after being their enemy for long)
-       There were three alliances; there are the Entente and the Alliance. The Entente consists of the Russia, France and Britain. While the Alliance consists of the Italy, Austria and Germany.  They all create Alliance so that they could aid each other when one of them gets invaded. The Entente’s motive is to prevent Germany from taking all over Europe.
-       The Cold War between the Soviet Union and the USA, their plan is to discourage each other into thinking twice before attacking each other by seeing who has more military powers. While the Hot War involves bullets and guns.
-       Britain cannot build that much ships even though it has a big Empire. And Germany could create more ships than Britain did, since the Germany still wanted to colonize and become a great nation, the British feared that the Germany could come and invade their big Empire.
-       The only time Ferdinand and Sophie could be together was their time in Sarajevo. This is the time where it creates a SPARK for the WWI. It happened when Ferdinand and Sophie was murdered as they were getting out from a building by the Serbs who wanted the Bosnian to leave Austria and joins the independent Serbia instead. The Serbs are known as the Black Hand
-       The Black Hand is a group of terrorist that want to destabilize the relationship between Serbia, Hungary and Sarajevo, they are all dying and under tuberculosis.
-       THE CHAIN REACTION:
-       28th July: Austria blames assassination on the Serbian government; they were supposed to be alliances. So they launch an attack on Serbia.
-       29th July: Russia prepared its army; it has promised Serbia to protect its country from any Austrian attacks.
-       1th August: Germany hears about Russian preparations and challenges Russia to war.
-       2th August: Britain organizes its warships.
-       3th August: Germany declares war on France.
-       4th August: Germany troops march to Belgium. Belgium and Britain declares war on Germany.
-       6th August: Austria declares war on Russia.
-       12th: Britain and France declares war on Austria.
